The Truth About Jupiter Elections

We'll call this installment "Annie Clean Up Your Own House." For the partial answer to the title question, you have to go back (back into time, as the song once said.)  To draw the lines, you have to look at a lawsuit titled "Annie Delgado vs. Carl Domino".  Many of you will remember Carl. He was a local Congressman for a while.  And he was a client of Public Concepts.  (Again, more on that later) The court complaint states that, in 2014, Annie believed that she was hired by the Domino campaign to do some work.  She was to be a fundraiser for $2,500 per month plus 10% of the money she raised.  She was specifically told that any funds raised in Washington were excluded from the agreement.  I assume they meant DC and not Washington State.  The email wasn't heavy on details. This was discussed in an email between Annie, Randy Nielsen of Public Concepts (more on that later), Carl Domino and Larry Casey, who was with Mr. Domino's campaign.  Annie ...

This gem was posted by Annie Delgado on the Taxpayers for Term Limits Facebook page. It is offensive to compare the Holocaust to vaccine requirements. The two things are not equivalent and they devalue the horror that is the Holocaust.  Does she think this is funny or clever?   Note the number of likes and shares.  Not one comment on the page citing this as offensive. As a side note, the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashana started at sundown on September 6, 2021.

 I had so many topics to write about (we'll get there. Be patient.), then this showed up. If you can't read the route, here are the instructions.  They're going to meet at the southeast corner of Indiantown and US 1, where the art gallery used to be.  After the bikes are organized and the trucks are organized, and everyone gets their flags and signs (This is just a guess, but I'll bet there will be some Trump 2024 flags and F- Biden decor), they're going to head east from that location "to I-95"  Anyone who is ACTUALLY FROM AROUND HERE knows that US1 and Indiantown is about as far East as you can get in Jupiter.  There's only one more traffic light, then Jupiter Beach Resort, then sand, then water, then the northern tip of the Bahamas, if you're lucky.  If you're not, your next stop is Western Sahara on the West coast of Africa. According to Sunbiz, Taxpayers for Term Limits was formed in February 2020.  The three Publix shoppers, Delgado, Vandersteel and Farrel, were all listed as the initial directors.  On the same day as incorporation, Taxpayers for Term Limits set up its Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TaxpayersforTermLimits/.  The stated purpose of the group is " Government of the people, by the people and for the people requires leaders committed to serving the public rather than themselves! Our goal is to mandate that no politician be allowed to serve more than eight years in one office.   "   The domain Taxpayersfortermlimits.org first was registered on January 25, 2020.  The website has a letter from Ms. Delgado, the hit piece ad against Jim Kuretski and a hit piece ad on Karen Marcus (who, last time I checked, was not running for any office in an upcoming election).  The group uses the UPS Store address, probably to try to fool people into thinking...

The most active member of Taxpayers for Term Limits appears to be Annie M. Delgado.  Ms. Delgado  seems well-known in local Republican circles.  By well-known, I mean she seems as welcome as a non-member climbing the fence at Mar-a-Lago.  It's hard to know where to begin with this ardent taxpayer in favor of term limits. Ms. Delgado first obtained her real estate license in November 1993 and held that license until September 30, 2019, when it expired. Since I don't know her personally, I thought I'd look through the public records and find out.  The oldest useful entry I could find was a lawsuit filed by First Union National Bank in 1988.  She settled that case and stipulated to a judgment of $1,192.00 which she was going to pay back $25 a month until it was satisfied.  She did get the satisfaction in 1991.  At least a couple of postcards (and I understand a TV ad), along with a display ad in the USPS Informed Delivery email claim to be paid for by a group called "Taxpayers for Term Limits".  The address for the group, 5500 N. Military Trail, #20-202, in Jupiter.  The "Taxpayers for Term Limits" must be tiny people because their address is a mailbox at the UPS store in the Abacoa Plaza. There is nothing wrong with using a UPS mailbox, unless you are using it to hide something.  In this case, I think Taxpayers for Term Limits has much to hide. First, let's talk about the three people identified as identified as directors of Taxpayers for Term Limits on the Florida Secretary of State website, www.sunbiz.org.  The three directors are Annie M. Delgado, Ann Vandersteel and Dick Farrel.  The registered agent is Kathryn Dolbow.  The non-profit was formed in February 2020. Annie M.  I received a post card, which I have since discarded, that accused Jim Kuretski of being a lifelong politician.  The post card accused Jim of many untrue things, including placing responsibility for tax and budget increases, in an attempt to paint Jim as someone who is uncaring, tax-hungry and wasteful.  In my experience, nothing could be further from the truth. I remember when Jim first ran for council.  He was a true citizen-candidate.  Jim lived in the neighborhood next to mine, where he still lives today.  Jim was concerned about traffic management, specifically the use of what is now Island Way and the existing road, North Fork Drive.  There was a push to connect North Fork Drive to Island Way where the two roads would connect in Martin County.  This would drive substantially more traffic through The Shores, where Jim lived, and North Fork, where we lived at the time.  Jim was opposed to this plan, as were many of his neighbors.
